The Southern California Library offers many resources on issues facing South Los Angeles today,
including books, videos, posters, and archival collections. Highlights
from our resources, as well as links to other resources, are available on the pages below in different theme areas:
You can also download a bibliography (PDF) of
selected readings.
The Southern California Library's resources are available for use by all, including teachers who would like to
integrate them into their curriculums. You can check out books and videos directly. We can also
work with you on putting together exhibits from our collections in school or community settings, or
hosting class tours, visits, and exhibits at the Library.
We welcome you to come into the Library, to browse our materials, to check out books and videos, to make copies, and
to talk with us about using these materials to engage students and others in discussions about
our communities.
