Foundation Center Resources
Until our tax dollars are distributed as we determine, the Library will strive to offer a variety of resources to assist in raising funds for our communities, including the Foundation Center’s Funding Information Network.
The Foundation Center is one of the nation’s leading resources on philanthropy and serves grant-seekers, grant-makers, and the general public.
As a partner in this network, we are able to provide visitors with free public access to powerful tools such as:
Foundation Directory Online – Searchable database of over 140,000 grant-makers and the grants they've made. Available in the Library on our public computers, or on your laptop via our wireless network.
Maps – Uses aggregated data and demographic maps to reveal patterns of foundation giving and funding relationships. Available in the Library on our public computers or on your laptop via our wireless network.
The Foundation Center also offers another free service, www.grantspace.org, which provides easy-to-use, self-service tools and resources to help nonprofits worldwide become more viable grant applicants and build strong, sustainable organizations. Available to anyone from any computer with an internet connection.
We are currently accepting appointments to use these Foundation Center tools. We also provide occasional workshops and training sessions on using Foundation Center materials and other fundraising issues. If you want to learn about these opportunities, or need more information or help getting started, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at (323) 759-6063.
