Mona Field, a passionate educator and activist, both inside and outside the classroom, is Board President of the L.A. Community College District, Vice President of the California Federation of Teachers, and professor at Glendale Community College.

Mover and Shaker Awards
Coalition for Educational Justice (CEJ) is a multi-racial, anti-racist grassroots membership organization of teachers, students, and parents working for a radical transformation of L.A. schools.

UCLA's Institute for Democracy, Education, and Access (IDEA), a network of university and public school educators, students, policymakers, and community groups, is a visionary organization committed to making high-quality public schooling and college participation routine occurrences in low-income neighborhoods of color.

Community Coalition's South Central Youth Empowered Through Action (SC-YEA) is a dynamic group that is developing the next generation of activists capable of leading their peers and impacting public policy in their schools and community.

Emcee
Jackie Goldberg, a remarkable advocate for the public interest, has served as a teacher and as a member of the L.A. Unified School Board, the L.A. City Council, and in the California State Assembly, where she chairs the Assembly Education Committee.

Entertainment by
Conjunto Jarocho Xoloitzcuintli, playing in the Vera Cruz style, blending Spanish, African, and Indian influences.
