"I have often reflected upon the new vistas that reading opened
to me. I knew right there in prison that reading had changed
forever the course of my life." --Malcolm X
|
Most books will be $1 or $2, pamphlets 50 cents. A vast selection
will be available, including books on political theory, socialism,
African-American studies, and much more. Fresh stock has just been
added to our inventory from a huge private collection that was
recently given to the Library.

A volunteer helps to
move some of the over 4,000 books donated for this sale from a private
collection.

The book reading will take place Saturday, July 30, at 2 p.m. Professor Freer
will be available to sign the book, which will be offered for sale. Music
and art will be featured on Sunday, July 31.
There will be free ice cream both
days and other refreshments. The event is
free and open to the public so please come and bring your friends. All
proceeds will benefit the Library.

press release.
