The Search for a Civic Voice: California Latino Politics
In his new book, The Search for a Civic Voice: California Latino Politics, Ken Burt argues that to understand Latino politics in California, you need to know about the convergence with Left and Labor movements in Los Angeles, growing out of the New Deal in the 1930s. Come hear and share stories of early activists who worked to create a more just society by building coalitions-- at a time when coalition politics continues to shape who gets elected in California.
